What was your first job?
At 16, I worked as a waitress in a trendy Belfast restaurant, learning the value of listening to customers, clear communication, and delivering high-quality service. My first professional role came in 1999 as a software test engineer at I.T. Alliance, a lifetime ago now!
What pushed you to pursue a career in this field?
After completing a degree in Business and a postgraduate qualification in Information Systems, I was drawn to the tech sector, it was booming, and I was intrigued by its potential to transform how we work and live.
What would you regard as your greatest achievement to date?
Working with a fantastic team to establish the Auxilion business in 2012, launching our direct-to-market brand and setting up 24/7 service operations in Dublin and Sheffield. It was a pivotal moment that laid the foundation for our transformation journey.
Career-wise, would you do anything differently?
Honestly, no. I’ve been fortunate to have a wide range of opportunities. My career path wasn’t linear or meticulously planned, I followed my curiosity, sought out learning, and worked with great people. Since joining I.T. Alliance Group in 1999, I’ve held a variety of roles, from technical delivery and project management to leadership (Auxilion COO, Shared Services Director, Consulting Director). Each role brought unique challenges and learning opportunities. Today, as Director of Strategy, Innovation & Transformation at Auxilion, I lead strategic initiatives that will shape the future of our business.
In one sentence, how would you define success?
Success is making a meaningful impact while growing alongside others.
What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given?
Stay open to opportunity, even if it doesn’t look like what you expected.
How do you motivate yourself and your staff?
By embracing and developing a culture of trust, encouraging change and growth, and connecting our work to a shared purpose.
How do you handle adversity?
I approach it with resilience and reflection, focusing on what can be learned and how we can adapt.
How do you relax?
Spending time with my family, walking outdoors, and switching off from screens whenever possible.
What are your aspirations for the future of the business?
To continue driving strategic transformation and mentoring emerging leaders while staying curious and open to what’s next.
