Lisa Geoghegan is Managing Director of Sonalife, a company spearheading community development and management within the property industry.

What was your first job?

My dad runs a car dealership and growing up in a family business, it was all hands on deck. This gave me a great work ethic, invaluable business experience and the confidence to deal with customers.

What pushed you to pursue a career in this field?

Having worked in the property industry, I saw a gap in the market. Sonalife was born from a desire to create stronger and better connected communities within property developments.

What would you regard as your greatest achievement to date?

On launching Sonalife, I secured Henderson Park, Patrizia, Chartered Land, and Walmart Global Tech as clients. It was huge to have such high profile clients understand the importance of community and value my service.

Career wise, would you do anything differently?

No. Everything I’ve done, from my property career as a chartered surveyor, to being a wellness practitioner and community manager, has given me unique experiences to help shape, build and grow my business.

In one sentence, how would you define success?

Success is all about maintaining work-life harmony: having close family and friends, being part of a community and finding a job that gives you a sense of fulfilment.

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given?

Growing up in a family business, my dad and brother have always said: “under-promise and over-deliver.” I stand by that motto to this day.

How do you motivate yourself and your staff?

Working with talented people motivates me. I create a positive environment where, with my support, the team can share ideas, speak openly and take on new challenges to up-skill.

How do you handle adversity?

There will always be challenges in business but you need to have confidence in your experience and trust that the solution is always there.

How do you relax?

Meditation, yoga and exercise are part of my weekly routine. Connecting with friends and family over good food and a glass of wine is also good for the soul.

What are your aspirations for the future of the business?

To continue to grow and develop community experiences in real estate. Launching our community platform in 2022 will give us an opportunity to enter the global market and I’m really excited about that.
