Taking place on April 28th at the Mullingar Park Hotel, the National Industry 4.0 Summit will highlight how the Irish manufacturing sector is contributing to Ireland’s GDP growth.

One of the trends underpinning the rise in exports is the openness of Irish manufacturers to engage with new technologies at production level. This has given a considerable competitive advantage for the Irish manufacturing sector given the strong presence of global players in the software and technology sector located in Ireland.

The National Industry 4.0 Summit, Ireland’s premier trade exhibition of smart industrial technologies, targets this upswing in output by focusing on a range of exhibits from factory automation and robotics, manufacturing software solutions, services to manufacturing industry, as well as supply-chain and logistics and conveyance and storage.

The event, organised by the Chamber of Commerce in Mullingar, is a coming together of the leading companies in Ireland who are engaged with technology developments at a high level to drive efficiencies and productivity.

Companies such as Johnson & Johnson, Siemens, Keenan Systems, IBM, Ericsson and Microsoft who have all employed the Industry 4.0 concept will give their accounts of implementing systems for an audience of CEOs, CTOs from the manufacturing sector and senior managers from companies along the supply line.

New efficiencies being offered in these areas are considered by many to amount to a whole revolution in manufacturing, akin to the original Industrial Revolution. This concept is often referred to as Industry 4.0, completely transforming production techniques at factory floor level.

The keynote address will be given by Martin Shanahan, CEO of IDA Ireland, at this unique event which aims to inform delegates of how they can increase their competitiveness in anew era of burgeoning technology developments.
