Delivering for people, place, and planet is the goal of Community Foundation Ireland. Partnering with corporates, philanthropists and other supporters, as well as a network of 5,000 voluntary, community and charitable groups, we deliver frontline services and projects creating a future which is fair, just and equal.
Measurable impact is increasingly important, and the focus of our team is to ensure that the ESG ambitions of companies of all sizes are met responsibly. Partnering with the Community Foundation offers trusted independent expert support through governance, transparency, measurement and impact delivery.
Whether your area of operation is locally focused, regional or national, we have the infrastructure and the knowledge to deliver the positive impact you want. Impact, which not only offers support to people and communities but is also a motivator for your team.
Chief Executive of Community Foundation Ireland, Denise Charlton, often gets to witness at first hand the impact of corporate philanthropy in action: “Lives are transformed by businesses which step up to the mark and are committed to delivering real and tangible benefits. Children and young people at risk of drugs and crime are given new opportunities. Families in debt are provided with sound advice for a secure future. Safety is offered to those in danger. Green spaces created and so much more.”
Each firmly showing the potential of thoughtful strategic corporate philanthropy and that positive informed actions by companies and organisations can make a difference and contribute to a fair, sustainable future.
The most successful projects are no doubt those where companies get truly – using internal skills and knowledge to help shape projects which have a personal or professional connection.
Our corporate partners are seeing the benefit of linking to our expertise and connectivity to communities. Over €160 million in grant-making delivered since 2000. Community Foundation Ireland is the leading philanthropic hub.
Changing, complex and uncertain times require giving and funds which are flexible and agile. In responding to the cost-of-living crisis, the impact of war and the global COVID-19 pandemic, our partners step up to the mark.
Our connectivity and our model of giving allow a crisis response which is both strategic and timely. Today, many frontline services in communities continue to use the digital infrastructure our supporters put in place during COVID-19 and severe weather events.
Businesses remain at the fore in supporting those seeking shelter and safety in our communities after fleeing their own homes in the shadow of the bomb and the bullet. Refuge and support from our frontline partners are also in place for those seeking safety from violent homes.
While people and families hit the hardest by the cost of living are not only receiving essentials such as food, light and clothing, they can also access opportunities for school, training and work.
With knowledge, expertise and experience of effective community engagement, Community Foundation Ireland is proud to partner with the Social Impact Category in the 2026 Business and Finance ESG Awards.
