What is it?
Niche SSP is an Irish international recruitment firm, that currently recruits the top 10% of Construction Estimators (Quantity Surveyors) across the US. Niche SSP is building the most comprehensive database of Construction Estimators across the US using customised technology.
Niche SSP’s value proposition is that they can recruit a quality Construction Estimator within 4-6 weeks, currently nine months faster than traditional recruitment firms. Niche SSP has disrupted the €450 billion recruitment industry having reverse engineered the traditional approach to recruitment, which has been client focussed since its inception.
By focusing 80% of their time on candidates, Niche SSP delivers the top 10% of Estimators faster. Niche SSP has a cloud-based, bespoke database of qualified Estimating talent which enables them to quickly and accurately match quality candidates with construction clients.
Who’s behind it?
Niche SSP was set up in 2017 by Ciara and Gareth McGlynn. Ciara, a former Republic of Ireland International Soccer Player, has seven years of staffing experience in Australia and New York.
In 2012 Ciara was awarded ‘Top Rookie’ for the Asia Pacific region for the Global Recruitment firm SThree; in 2013 she went on to win ‘Top Biller’ for Australia; and in 2014 Ciara was transferred internally with SThree to New York to recruit in a highly sophisticated market for Wall Street Banks.
An Ex League of Ireland professional footballer with Derry City & Bohemians, Gareth has seven years construction and staffing experience in Ireland, UK, Australia and New York. Combining his competitive nature, engineering degree and onsite construction experience, Gareth offers world class staffing consulting.
In 2016 Ciara and Gareth decided to start their own recruitment firm back home in Donegal. The 14+ years of experience both co-founders bring in recruiting in global niche markets, along with their market knowledge in Estimating, is a key strength of Niche SSP.
How is it funded?
Niche SSP is self funded and along with support from the Donegal Local Enterprise Office Niche has grown from strength to strength.
Donegal Local Enterprise office have supported Niche through a Mentoring program, Expansion Grant, Priming Grant for the hiring of staff and most importantly opening up their network of local services.
Future plans?
Currently operating in the South East of the US, over the next three years Niche SSP aims to grow export sales to over €1 million and employ ten staff in Donegal by adopting a structured and planned approach of new market entry in Maine, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, The proven model has allowed the business to quickly establish a strong digital brand in a highly lucrative market.
