Dublin Aerospace announces the creation of 150 new full-time positions

Dublin Aerospace announces the creation of 150 new full-time positions as part of ambitious growth plan, supported by Enterprise Ireland.
Dublin Aerospace, Ireland’s largest independent aircraft maintenance provider, has announced that they will be creating 150 new jobs over the next three years.  The significant expansion of Dublin Aerospace’s workforce is part of the company’s strategy to double its turnover by 2023.
Conor McCarthy, Executive Chairman, announced that since their start-up in 2009 with just 18 staff, annual turnover has risen from €7m to €46m last year and they have been profitable since their second year in operation. “Last year saw further increases in turnover for all three business units; Aircraft Overhaul, Landing Gear and Auxiliary Power Unit (APU) Services. This solid underlying business performance has given us the confidence to create another 150 full time, permanent engineering and support roles in our Dublin operation.”
At a media event in Dublin Aerospace Hangar today, Michael Tyrrell, CEOannounced “This Quarter we have just hired the first 48 of 150 additional team members with a variety of skill sets including Aircraft Engineers, Avionics Technicians, Structures & Composite Technicians , Painters and Aircraft Operatives.”

Out of these 48, 17 of these positions were taken up by graduates of the Dublin Aerospace Apprenticeship & Trainee Programmes. The company offers five types of such Programmes in conjunction with SOLAS,the Irish National Training Agency, with over 100 young men and women currently in training. In 2017/18 they expect to take on approximately 35 more.

Mr Tyrrell went onto say “We attribute our success to our dedicated and flexible teams of professionals. As a highly-skilled industry where experience is key, we need to maintain these standards as we grow. Therefore I am pleased to announce that we will have two more intakes of similar size in 2018 and 2019, creating 150 more jobs in total.”

Their renowned Aviation Apprenticeship & Trainee programmes ensure that they are delivering the highest standards to their customers,some of whom are the biggest airlines and aircraft leasing companies in the world. The aviation sector is extremely important for Ireland, contributing more than €4 billion to the economy and my Department, through Enterprise Ireland, continue to support Dublin Aerospace’stellar growth.”
With a global client base stretching from Asia to America, Dublin Aerospace has worked alongside Enterprise Ireland during Trade Shows and trade delegations around the world.  Commenting on today’s announcement, Julie Sinnamon, Enterprise Ireland CEO said “Dublin Aerospace is a very important service provider to the global aviation industry.
