London Stock Exchange co-hosted a fintech event with Dublin Tech Summit marking their first of many launch events in the lead up to the conference taking place in Dublin’s Convention Centre on February 15th and 16th 2017.
Scale-ups and established enterprises including RBS, Accenture, Innovate Finance, Virgin, Kantox and Comtrade joined Dublin Tech Summit as they opened the London Stock Market.
Following some opening remarks from Dublin Tech Summit CEO Ben English, the invite only guests were addressed by James Dickerson, programme director at Accenture in a discussion entitled ‘FinTech Trends: The Changing Landscape, Challenges and Potential’.
Ben English, CEO, Dublin Tech Summit, commented: “Dublin Tech Summit is not just a two-day event but an extended series of conversations in the run up a global gathering in Dublin next February. In starting these conversations with today’s event, we are delighted to be in the London Stock Exchange and the world’s fintech capital.
He continued: “Fintech plays a huge part in this as one of our seven pillars and we are delighted to have such incredible speakers on the topic representing us both here today and on our fintech stage in February. We’re confident that the outputs of this fintech event will shape future narratives and content ahead of the global Dublin Tech Summit in February 2017.”
Tom Attenborough, head of UK Large Cap, Primary Markets, said: “London Stock Exchange is delighted to host Dublin Tech Summit in the first of their launch events leading to their inaugural Dublin event in February 2017. In recent years, London has forged a leading global role in fintech, backing innovative companies with the support of UK government. At the same time, Ireland has become a prominent European tech hub supporting a thriving ecosystem of leading tech giants and dynamic start-ups. With both groups in attendance today at London Stock Exchange, we’re sure that today’s event will prove a valuable platform to continue building links between London and Ireland.”
