Magnet Networks creates new division focused on high-growth global opportunities

Current CEO Mark Kellett will lead the new Global Division as Magnet Networks Group CEO.

Speaking about the creation of the new division new Magnet Networks Group CEO Mark Kellett said:

Magnet Networks has achieved considerable growth from our specific expertise in working with web-centric multinational business customers on a global scale. We work with some of the world’s biggest brands and believe that there is considerable further opportunity for us in the sector.

He continued: “The design and unique deployment of Magnet Networks’ technology is enabling a new way of smart living and our majority-owned subsidiary, Velocity 1, is redefining the traditional rental model in the biggest construction project in Britain.

“The 85-acre Wembley Park smart city project shows how technology can infinitely help the way we live and work. Velocity 1 is continuing to grow in association with aggressive construction plans by Quintain, our partner at Wembley Park.”

New Magnet Networks Managing Director appointed

Stephen Brewer

Telecommunications industry expert Stephen Brewer will become the Managing Director of the Magnet Networks Ireland Division, reporting to Mr Kellett. Brewer occupied CEO positions at Vodafone, Cable & Wireless and Digicel and was previously CCO at O2 and Orange France.

Magnet Networks recently announced the installation of free public wi-fi in the centre of Galway and seven other towns around the country. This initiative will give locals and tourists unlimited access to speeds of up to 100mps. Supported by local authorities and business groups, the ground-breaking scheme will see free high-speed broadband installed in Sligo, Westport, Monaghan, Knock and Carrick-On-Shannon town centres.
