Business & Finance highlights notable new appointments at Stellwagen Group, Haven and Over-C.

Stellwagen Group has announced two major appointments in their senior management. David Butler, the Group Chief Operating Officer will become the new Group Chief Executive Officer, and Douglas Brennan, the founder and current Group Chief Executive Officer of Stellwagen Group, will transition to the role of Executive Chairman with immediate effect. Scott Corman and Eugene O’Reilly will continue as the CEOs of Stellwagen’s two operating divisions, Stellwagen Capital and Seraph Aviation.

David Butler brings considerable business experience to this new role. He has a track record of success both within the company and prior to joining it. He has been serving the company as COO since October 2017. Prior to this, he served in a number of executive roles with mobile phone network provider Digicel for over a decade.

Progressing into the role of Executive Chairman, Douglas Brennan will continue to work closely with the Board and Management team on the Strategic direction of the company. He founded Aviation Finance Corporation, now Stellwagen Finance in 2013 and has guided the expansion of the operating and financial capability of the Group through the acquisition of Seraph Aviation and the founding of Stellwagen Capital, and Stellwagen Technology. He previously served as CEO of Ledyard Capital Management, a shipping investment company, and as CEO of Illington Fund Management.

Haven, the Irish NGO working on the ground in Haiti, recently announced the appointment of Sandra Segin as its new Programmes Manager. As part of her role, Sandra has relocated to Île à Vache, Haiti, a small island off the southwest coast of the country, which has increased Haven’s presence on the ground. Her responsibilities will include implementing Haven’s programmes, developing partnerships and supporting the development of new funding.

Sandra leads the “Vizyon Pam” (Creole for ‘My Vision’) business development programme that Haven launched in Haiti earlier this year. The programme will see 60 local people setting up their own businesses in 2018 alone. Since moving to Île à Vache Sandra has expanded the programme to the mainland towns of Les Cayes and Cavaillon, and other areas of Haiti.

With previous experience as an Account Manager in IDG Direct and a Business Development Executive at Sojern, Sandra is responsible for ensuring the participation of local communities in her assigned programmes and supporting the development of new funding and proposals. Working closely with Haven’s Country Director, Damien Meaney, and Vizyon Pam’s local Field Officer and Programme Development Officer, Sandra also liaises with local government officials and other NGOs to expand and continue the progress of the programme.

Sandra graduated with a B.A. in Politics and International Relations from UCD, followed by M.Sc in Development Practice at Trinity College Dublin.

James Murphy has joined leading Irish data and analytics technology company, Over-C, as Head of Partnerships, with focus to develop strategic partnerships globally.

James’ role will entail identifying, developing and managing partnerships in the Irish market as well as in Spain and South America. Over-C recently announced their partnership with O2, which enables the telecommunications company to offer Over-C’s digital transformation solution to new and existing clients in the UK, under the name O2 Smart Compliance.

Speaking about his new role, James said:
