Kainos is our Company of the Month for May 2026, in association with KPMG. Kainos’s revenues jumped by 17% in the 12 months to March, reaching more than £421 million.

Kainos’s annual report highlighted an increase in demand for its IT and software development services. To support its rapidly growing clientele, Kainos expanded its workforce as its contracted order backlog increased.
Kainos chief executive Brendan Mooney said that “the turnaround was related to an improvement in the company’s performance and sales in the second half of the year.”
The company’s acquisition of Davis Pier, a Canadian firm, added 120 employees to the Kainos staff. This contributed £4.6 million in revenue during the six months following the deal that was finalised in September 2025.
Mooney commented that while Kainos utilises artificial intelligence tools, employees remain crucial for its success. “We still need people to be at the heart of what we do and design and build for clients,” he said.
Despite geopolitical uncertainty, Kainos remains optimistic about the year and anticipates growth specifically in the Canadian market.
The Belfast-based company, Kainos, led by Brendan Mooney, operates in 18 countries around the world. Specialising in modernising digital systems, applying AI and data analytics to improve efficiency, and implementing platforms such as Workday, the company aims to have “a lasting, positive impact” on its clients.
