NTR and Almac have agreed to adjust the terms of their 2024 corporate power purchase agreement (PPA). They are to increase the volume of electricity supplied by the 21.6-MW Murley wind farm in County Tyrone, Northern Ireland.

Initially, the windfarm supplied just under 50% of its output to Northern Ireland-based Almac under a long-term PPA with NTR. Two years later, the revised agreement raises that share to just under 70% of the wind farm’s production.

NTR plc was created in 1978 to develop and operate the first toll bridge in Ireland. In the late 1990s, it pivoted into renewable energy, initially investing in wind through a stake in Airtricity, and later expanding into solar, bioenergy, and energy storage both in Ireland and internationally.

In recent years, NTR has concentrated on utility-scale solar and battery storage projects across Ireland and Europe, managing multiple funds such as the L&G NTR Clean Power (Europe) Fund. Today, NTR operates as a leading renewables-focused asset manager and investor, overseeing a diversified portfolio of wind, solar, and storage assets while continuing to expand its European footprint.
