Dublin-based video game and technology company Keywords Studios is to acquire US customer support platform Helpshift. Keywords Studios is our Company of the Month for October 2022, in association with KPMG.
Keywords Studios, a Dublin-based global services platform for video games and other technology ventures, has reached a conditional agreement to acquire US customer support platform Helpshift for up to $75m.
Based in San Francisco, Helpshift developed an automation tool for customer support, which is used by gaming companies Zynga, Tencent and Supercell.
By combining conversational AI, automation, translation and agent support, Helpshift’s automation tool aims to manage and resolve customer support issues in real time.
Keywords Studios CEO Bertrand Bodson said: “We have seen first-hand the power of their technology and its ability to improve player engagement and retention.”
He continued: “We believe being able to deliver a holistic player experience solution will be a compelling offering for our clients and further support our strategic partnership ambitions with them.”
Keywords Studios was Established in 1998, and now with 60+ facilities in 21 countries strategically located in Asia, the Americas and Europe, it provides integrated art creation, marketing services, software engineering, testing, localization, audio and customer care services across more than 50 languages and 16 games platforms to a blue-chip client base of more than 950 clients across the globe.
Keywords Studios has a strong market position, providing services to 23 of the top 25 most prominent games companies, including Bandai Namco, Bethesda, Electronic Arts, Konami, Microsoft, Riot Games, Square Enix, Supercell, TakeTwo, Epic Games and Ubisoft. Recent titles worked on include Mortal Combat X, Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, Borderlands 3, League of Legends, Fortnite, Clash Royale and Rainbow Six Siege. Keywords Studios is listed on AIM, the London Stock Exchange regulated market (KWS.L).
