Established in 1889, Northern Trust is a financial institution helping clients with asset servicing, investment management and wealth management. The company began serving Irish clients in 1989 and opened its Dublin office in 2000. Northern Trust Ireland provides fund administration, global custody, depositary and middle office services to fund managers and institutional investors worldwide, including traditional and alternative asset managers, insurance companies and multinational pension funds, as stated on the firm’s website.

Melíosa O’Caoimh is the country head of Northern Trust Ireland. O’Caoimh began work as Chief Operations Officer of Northern Trust Ireland in 2003 and has held a number of high-ranking roles at the company since then. She took the reins as Country Head in 2019. As Country Head, O’Caoimh is responsible for developing the Chicago-based business’ operations in Ireland.

Northern Trust won the Diversity, Equality and Inclusion Award at this year’s Business & Finance Awards.  O’Caoimh accepted the award on behalf of the company.
