This week saw new and notable appointments at Baker Tilly Mooney Moore, Pinergy Solar Electric, Virgin Media Ireland and International Public Relations Network.

Baker Tilly Mooney Moore

Belfast accountancy and advisory firm Baker Tilly Mooney Moore has made three new appointments across the practice amid a period of sustained growth and development.

The firm, which specialises in Audit & Assurance, Business Services, Consulting, Taxation and Restructuring & Insolvency has appointed a Practice Manager, a Payroll specialist and an Auditor.

Rachel Mills becomes Practice Manager and will oversee the daily operational running of the firm. She joins with over 20 years’ experience in a mid-tier firm.

“It is fantastic to have joined the team at Baker Tilly Mooney Moore. This is a fast-paced role in a busy work environment, and I am thrilled to have come on board during a period of growth and expansion”, said Mills.

Sanjida Chowdhury joins the Audit Department as Assistant Auditor, with experience as a Finance Officer in a charitable organisation and as an Auditor in a ‘Big 4’ practice.

In Business Services, Marta Howako has been appointed Payroll Administrator. She brings specialist payroll experience from working with a well-known recruitment firm to the Business Services team.

Dick Meaney, Agricultural Sales Manager, Pinergy Solar Electric 

Pinergy SolarElectric has announced the appointment of Dick Meaney as its new Agricultural Sales Manager. Dick’s role will focus on driving national sales in the agricultural division to match the growth ambitions of Pinergy SolarElectric.

In his new role, Dick will be supporting farmers to become more sustainable in the long term by embracing renewable technologies through Solar PV, helping them to reduce their carbon footprint at farm level while simultaneously enabling them to reduce energy costs on the farm.

Dick’s core areas of responsibility will be advising farmers across the country on their renewable and microgeneration strategy, whilst supporting them with their broader sustainability challenges particularly in managing agricultural emissions.

“Commenting on his appointment, Dick Meaney said “I’m really looking forward to working with the team at Pinergy SolarElectric to help farmers across Ireland think differently about their renewable energy needs. With 2030 climate targets coming into sharp focus, there is a lot that the sector can do and should be doing”.

Virgin Media Ireland has appointed Aidan D’Arcy as Vice-President of Wholesale and Business. He takes up his new role on the Senior Leadership Team with immediate effect, reporting to Virgin Media Ireland CEO Tony Hanway.

As Vice-President of Wholesale and Business, he will also be overseeing the expansion of Virgin Media’s full-fibre network – the focus of a current €200 million investment by the company. This will further enhance Virgin Media’s future offerings both for business and residential customers as well as providing wholesale opportunities by opening up third party access to the Virgin Media network.

In his new role, he’ll be responsible for the strategic growth and development of Virgin Media Business, while also working closely with Tech Solutions and Consumer functions. D’Arcy has over 18 years’ experience with Virgin Media Ireland, having first joined the business in 2004 as an engineering graduate.

The International Public Relations Network (IPRN) has announced the appointment of Abdulrahman Inayat, co-founder of Saudi marketing communications agency W7Worldwide, as regional chair of its board for the Middle East and North Africa region. The appointment signals the prominence Inayat has attained as one of the region’s most accomplished Public Relations professionals.

Luis Gonzalez, President of the IPRN said: “the appointment of Inayat as regional chair of the IPRN board comes due to his experience in the field of public relations and increased international skills”.
