Rob Morrison, Head of Technology,
Esri Ireland
Esri Ireland has announced the appointment of Rob Morrison to the newly created role of Head of Technology.
In this position, Morrison will play a key role in driving business growth for Esri Ireland by informing, guiding, shaping, executing & applying the company’s technical strategy and associated roadmaps. He will also provide mentorship, guidance, and technical expertise to Esri Ireland’s internal technical teams, setting a clear technology vision and empowering teams to achieve this. Rob will help to operationalise both Esri and GIS-related technology initiatives, aligning them with Esri Ireland’s overall business goals.
He will also collaborate closely with customers and monitor market trends to identify whether these trends impact customers With decades of experience in the geospatial industry, Morrison brings a wealth of knowledge in developing technical strategies for customers, aiming to foster innovation and deliver value across diverse customer fields.
Previously, Morrison spent more than 14 years as a Principal Consultant with Esri Ireland. In this role, he was responsible for leading large customer engagements, and creating and implementing robust technical solutions for customers. Prior to this, Rob held various technical positions in Ireland, the UK, New Zealand, and the Middle East, providing exposure to and hands-on experience with cutting-edge developments in the technical field.
Speaking on his new appointment, Rob Morrison said: “As the newly appointed Head of Technology, I have the opportunity to merge my technical and business experience with a keen understanding of current geospatial industry trends, aimed at adding value for our customers. Morrison holds an MSc in Business from UCD Smurfit Business School.
Robert Butler, Dublin Operations Director,
EHS International
EHS International, a leading Irish environmental, health, and safety (EHS) company, has announced the appointment of Robert
Butler as its new Dublin Operations Director. Butler will spearhead operations from EHS International’s Ballymount office, driving the company’s mission of delivering top-tier single-source EHS solutions and training services.
With an extensive background in EHS and a proven track record of leadership and strategic development, Butler is well-positioned to
lead the Dublin operations. His career spans over three decades, and he has extensive experience in training, consultancy, and business development.

Butler was the Head of Learning & Development at the Construction Industry Federation (CIF), where he played a pivotal role in developing
continued professional development programmes and ensuring the successful delivery of annual revenue targets. Additionally, Butler served as a Board Member of the Health & Safety Authority (HSA), where he collaborated closely with executive teams to drive strategic initiatives and uphold operational excellence standards and had a tenure as Director for Safety & Health Consultancy at ESA Consultants.
His academic credentials include a Master’s in Business Practice from University College Cork, complemented by multiple certifications
in various EHS disciplines.

Helen Merry, Chief Operating Officer,
Allianz Ireland
Allianz Ireland, one of Ireland’s largest insurers, has announced the appointment of Helen Merry as Chief Operating Officer. Merry brings more than 24 years of experience with Allianz Ireland to the role, having worked in a number of different roles both within the business and IT. Merry was appointed to the Board of Management of Allianz Ireland in April 2019, and held the role of Chief Underwriting Officer since that time.
Merry is also the Allianz Ireland Board of Management member with overall responsibility for Sustainability and has recently been appointed as Chairperson of the Insurance Ireland Strategy and Advocacy Sustainability Working Group. The working group was established in 2021 to drive the sustainable finance agenda within Ireland’s insurance industry.
Merry plays a key role in leading Allianz Ireland’s sustainability activity in Ireland, which involves the introduction of two significant initiatives – Climate Safe Homes and Rebuild Better.
Climate Safe Homes is a first-of-its-kind project for the Irish insurance industry, an initiative aimed at accelerating climate adaptive home building in Ireland. Allianz Ireland has invested €1 million into the project and has brought together experts from across construction, engineering, and architecture to develop a new home building model designed specifically to withstand the effects of Ireland’s changing climate.
Allianz Ireland also announced a new initiative called ‘Rebuild Better’ for the Irish Insurance market. Through this initiative Allianz Ireland offers eligible customers €5,000* on top of their claim of €50,000 or more to make sustainable energy improvements to their home such as a heat pump system or wall insulation whilst they repair the damage to their home.

Steven Moloney, Chief Financial Officer,
Datalex
Datalex plc has announced that Steven Moloney will take up the role as Chief Financial Officer on 22 April 2024 and will also join the Board of Directors of the Company on that date.
Moloney joins Datalex from &Open where he held the position of CFO. Prior to this Moloney spent nearly 6 years at Block (formerly Square), where he was CFO for the UK & Europe, and led finance and strategy for the wider international business through a period of rapid growth. Steven has also held senior roles in Hostelworld, PaddyPower and PwC.

His background as a financial, strategic and execution leader will be invaluable for Datalex as we build for the future growth of the Company.
