This week sees new and notable appointments at Galway FM, Deloitte, Bonfire, Forvis Mazars, Intact Insurance Ireland DAC, Core, Inizio, and Glanbia. 


Julie White, Commercial Director
Galway FM

Bay Broadcasting Ltd has announced Julie White‘s appointment as Commercial Director of Galway FM. In her new position, White will drive revenue growth and develop new commercial strategies across radio, digital, and social. She will also strengthen relationships with local businesses, agencies, and third-party sales partners.

With over 20 years of senior commercial and management experience within Irish radio, Julie White joins Galway FM from her prior role at Live95, where she spent 9 years. There, she served as Sales and Marketing Manager and delivered a 20% increase in team revenue over 3 years, as well as an 82% increase in digital revenues.

Commenting on her appointment, Julie White, Commercial Director of Galway Bay FM, said, “I am delighted to be joining Galway Bay FM at such an exciting point in the station’s development. It has an incredibly strong position in Galway and, importantly, a very loyal relationship with its listeners and the local business community.”

Maeve Lochrie, Partner
Deloitte

Deloitte Ireland has announced the appointment of Maeve Lochrie as a Partner in its Tax & Legal practice. Lochrie is a solicitor and a Chartered Tax Adviser, and has over 12 years of experience advising high-net-worth families and entrepreneurs.

“Maeve brings exceptional expertise and a strong understanding of the issues facing entrepreneurs and families as they think about the future of their businesses, their capital and the transfer of wealth between generations,” commented Harry Goddard, CEO of Deloitte Ireland. “These are increasingly interconnected and complex decisions, and clients are looking for advisers who can bring together the right expertise around the whole picture.

Her appointment comes at a time when entrepreneurs and families are facing an increasingly complex environment in managing the intersection between their business interests, private capital, and personal wealth. Lochrie brings significant experience across wealth and business succession planning, asset protection and preservation, and international structures. She has advised some of the world’s most successful entrepreneurs on complex domestic and international mandates and is consistently recognised as a leading lawyer in the Chambers High Net Worth: Private Wealth Law Guide.

Nicola Wielopolski & Sinéad Lee, Creative Director & Growth Director
Bonfire

The digital creative agency Bonfire has announced two senior appointments.

Nicola Wielopolski has been appointed to the role of Creative Director. Wielopolski joins with over 20 years of experience from South Africa and Ireland’s top creative agencies. She has been recognised by Cannes, D&AD, New York Festivals, Clios, and more. Wielpolski brings a wealth of experience working on global brands such as McDonald’s, Honda, Smart Car, KFC, Converse and Skittles. Among her proudest work is the South African campaign that transformed Telkom, once one of the country’s most disliked brands, into one whose commercials were consistently ranked among South Africa’s most loved for three years running.

Sinéad Lee has been appointed as Growth Director of Bonfire. In her new role, she will work closely with senior clients of the company. She brings over 25 years of experience in marketing and communications. Over the course of her career, she has played a senior role in building some of Ireland’s best-known brands and delivering award-winning work for clients including Diageo, Mars, Lidl, eir, EirGrid, Barry’s Tea, Pilgrim’s Foods and IDA Ireland. Her agency career has included senior leadership roles at BBDO Dublin and, most recently, TBWA\Ireland.

Oonagh Carney & Elaine Daly, Partners
Forvis Mazars

The audit, tax, advisory, and consulting firm Forvis Mazars has announced the appointment of two new Partners.

Oonagh Carney joins the firm as Partner and Head of Indirect Tax Services. She will lead the firm’s expanding indirect tax practice. Carney brings over 25 years of experience in VAT and indirect tax advisory. Prior to joining the firm, she founded and led a boutique VAT consulting firm for over 15 years. She then joined KPMG and held her role for 11 years.

Elaine Daly has been appointed as Head of Business Consulting and Partner. She will lead Forvis Mazars’ expanding Business Consulting practice. Daly brings over 25 years of consulting experience, which spans strategy, change management and transformation across public and private sector clients. She joins the firm from Grant Thornton, where she held several senior leadership roles.

Catherine Moroney, Chair
Intact Insurance Ireland DAC

The Board of Directors of Intact Insurance Ireland DAC has announced the appointment of Catherine Moroney as Chair of the Board. An Independent Non-Executive Director of Intact Insurance Ireland DAC since April 2025, Moroney currently serves on the Board’s Risk and Remuneration Committees. Through her Board service, she has developed a strong understanding of the organisation, its strategy and its customers.

She also serves as an Independent Non-Executive Director of Cynergy Bank PLC in the UK and PTSB Group Holdings plc. Earlier in her career, Catherine Mnoroney spent 40 years with AIB, where she held many senior executive leadership roles, including Head of Business Banking, Regional Director Dublin, Head of Personal Banking, Head of Customer Management and Insight, Head of Portfolio Management Unit, and Head of Personal and Business Strategy and Product Lines, including Insurance.

Speaking on her appointment, Catherine Moroney said, “I am delighted to be appointed Chair of Intact Insurance Ireland. Andrew Murray, Director of Social Content Experience
Core

Ireland’s largest marketing communication agency, Core, has announced the appointment of Andrew Murray as Director of Social Content Experience. Before that, Murray led Core’s established Social Content team, bringing together the agency’s strengths in strategy, creativity, media, data and performance to create more connected, impactful social and content solutions for clients.

Andrew Murray brings more than 15 years of experience across brand, social, digital and content strategy. Most recently, he served as Managing Director of FEED at TBWA\Ireland, where he led the agency’s dedicated social, content and performance division, overseeing always-on and campaign strategy and content for a range of clients.

“Social has become one of the most powerful channels for both building brands and driving performance. Too often those objectives are treated separately, but the opportunity is to connect them,” he said.

“At Core, we’re bringing together creativity, media, data and performance to help clients create social content that earns attention, builds brand value and delivers measurable business results.”


Oisín Ó Gógáin, Chief People Officer
Inizio

Inizio has announced the appointment of Oisín Ó Gógáin as its new Chief People Officer. Ó Gógáin joins the company from Aon, where he was most recently Chief People Officer for the subregion of the UK, Ireland, and South Africa, supporting around 10,000 colleagues. Over 14 years with the firm, he held senior HR and Chief People Officer roles across Europe – with a particular focus on the Nordic region – as well as having spent time working in the US.

Wendy Chang Smith, Chief Financial Officer
Glanbia

Glanbia has appointed Wendy Chang Smith as its Chief Financial Officer (CFO), effective on 31 March 2027. Currently, Chang Smith is the Chief Digital & Transformation Officer of Glanbia. She also takes on the role of CFO Designate.

Commenting on the appointment, Hugh McGuire, Glanbia’s chief executive, said, “I would like to congratulate Wendy on her appointment as Chief Financial Officer Designate.
