The Principals Club, an international gathering of C-suite business and political leaders, convened at the The Hibernian Room of St Stephens Green Club in Dublin on 30th May to discuss innovation in the health tech space, commercial activity in sub-orbital space, and the opportunities for Irish companies therein.

Guests included Dame Vivian Hunt, Chief Innovation Officer at Optum, part of UnitedHealth Group (UHG), who partook in a fireside chat.

Also in attendance was Sara Sabry, the first Egyptian astronaut and the first Arab woman in space, and Norah Patten, Aeronautical Engineer, Citizen Scientist and Irish Astronaut Candidate. They partook in a panel discussion moderated by Oisin Lunny.

The event opened with an address by Tracey Carney, Managing Director, Catalyst Media Group. She continued: “Since last year’s Dublin Tech Summit we have seen a huge amount of ‘resetting’ in the tech industry – some positive, some not so much. We’ve witnessed seismic shifts in emerging technologies like generative AI, space tech and health tech, all of which are changing how we do business and allowing people to work smarter, not harder.

“Global business leaders from across the tech and business communities are convening in Dublin this week to attend the Dublin Tech Summit, now in it’s 7th year and with over 8,000 attend over the coming three days at the RDS. It’s an opportunity for Ireland to showcase the extraordinary innovation and ambition of the tech industry here and to forge new relationships with thought leaders from across the world.

“We are excited to have some of the world’s most innovative technology and business leaders and founders together to exchange insights and further develop the important ties between our communities.”

Founder of the Principal’s Club, Co-Founder of Dublin Tech Summit and publisher of Business & Finance, Ian Hyland, also said a few words.
