Grant Thornton join Business & Finance to champion businesses and individuals practising sustainability with the ESG Awards
Business & Finance proudly announces Grant Thornton as the headline partner for the 2024 Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Awards, scheduled for April 18th. The event, held in The Round Room at The Mansion House in Dublin, will recognise and celebrate companies and individuals actively striving to address and progress environmental and social Issues.
Tracey Carney, Managing Director, Business & Finance said: “Each year, business leaders gather to recognise those working hardest to combat the biggest challenges facing our society and planet. The ESG Awards serve as a platform to showcase success stories, share best practices, and underscore the importance of transparency in sustainability efforts.”
The partnership between Grant Thornton and Business & Finance underscores Grant Thornton’s dedication to celebrating businesses that demonstrate excellence in sustainable business practices in Ireland. Carney further commented: “It’s never been more critical for businesses to prioritise ESG considerations, and we are delighted to have Grant Thornton’s support in championing sustainable business practices.”
Stephen Tennant, CEO, Grant Thornton Ireland speaking on this partnership said: “We are delighted to support the ESG Awards which celebrates businesses and teams which demonstrate excellence in sustainable business practices in Ireland.
“At Grant Thornton, we know sustainability is a shared responsibility within the business community, and we work with clients across all industries in building meaningful programmes that help them achieve their climate and sustainability goals. Our partnership with the ESG Awards reaffirms Grant Thornton’s commitment to driving change and creating a better, more sustainable future for generations to come.”
Sustainability stands as the paramount and most pressing issue of our era. According to EPA projections, Ireland will achieve a reduction of just 29% in Greenhouse Gas emissions by 2030 compared to a national target of 51% unless all sectors of the economy play their part and offer sustainable solutions to the way they work.
The ESG criteria provides essential metrics for companies to measure, benchmark and report their efforts towards sustainable growth, and effective decision making. Using these benchmarks, the ESG Awards offers businesses the opportunity to give a visible and attainable contribution towards a greener future.
Now in its third year, the ESG awards continue to grow and expand, introducing new categories to reflect the evolving ESG landscape. The esteemed judging panel evaluates entries across various criteria, acknowledging those setting the standards for ESG excellence.
With a variety of categories, the Awards will showcase the successes of ESG initiatives, examples of best practice and highlight the importance of transparency in this area. There are 18 categories including ESG Innovation Award, Diversity, Equality & Inclusion Initiative Award and, of course, the ESG Leader award. See the full list of categories on the website.
The Business & Finance ESG Awards ceremony will take place on April 18th at 12.30pm at the Round Room in the Mansion House, Dublin 2 with a luncheon awards ceremony expected to host 300 attendees.
