Business & Finance highlights notable new appointments at Acumen, Bank of Ireland and Bootstrap for Arkphire

Charlene Rooney, Senior Manager, Corporate Banking New Business Origination

Bank of Ireland 

Charlene Rooney has been appointed Senior Manager on Bank of Ireland’s Corporate Banking New Business Origination team. In her new role, Charlene will be responsible for business development and the origination of new business for Corporate Banking in Dublin.

Charlene began her career with Bank of Ireland in 2004 via the Group Graduate Programme. She spent six years working in Private Banking where she held various roles including Private Banking Lending Manager. Charlene joined Corporate Banking in 2011 and since then she has managed client portfolios across a broad range of sectors, including most recently as Head of Hotels Portfolio.  She holds QFA and Bachelor of Science in Finance from Queens University Belfast.

Acumen Aviation, a leading Aircraft Asset Management Services Company, announced the appointment of Donal Lowry as Head of Asset Management.

Donal brings with him more than 40 years’ experience in the aviation sector, the majority of which has been invested in both the airline and leasing space. Donal has the necessary ability and experience to advise and help shape Acumen’s asset management ambition and the processes and procedures required to secure further growth.

Prior to joining Acumen, Donal held senior positions with blue chip leasing companies including ELIX Aviation Capital as Head of Technical, DAE Capital as Senior Technical Advisor and ORIX Aviation as both Technical Director and Senior Director Singapore. Donal’s career includes 27 years with Aer Lingus in various roles including Head of Airworthiness & Technical Policy and Head of Maintenance. Donal trained as an aircraft engineer and has held licences and approvals on both Boeing and Airbus aircraft as well as holding the position of Chairman of the Dublin Branch of the Royal Aeronautical Society

Bootstrap for Arkphire

Irish owned IT services and networking company, Arkphire, has appointed Brendan Martin to head up its networking solutions business, Bootstrap. Bootstrap, which was acquired by Arkphire during 2016, was established almost 40 years ago.

In his new role as Head of Networking Services for Bootstrap, Brendan’s main responsibilities will be to drive sales growth and marketing initiatives in Bootstrap, build out customer relationships including the Cisco Gold Partner status, together with the development of competitive strategy for the business.  Brendan will also be a key part of the Arkphire leadership team that is driving the process, already well underway, to further align and integrate Bootstrap and Arkphire, into a more fully enhanced single enterprise offering with capabilities across the full spectrum of IT services.
