In our Ones to Watch section, we highlight some of the top movers and shakers in Ireland. This week we feature Greener Globe.
What is it?
Greener Globe is an award-winning environmentally friendly company. Their first product is known as Aquacica which is a LED water conservation shower head. It is based off a timer sequence, similar to a traffic light. It shines green for 5 minutes, orange for 2 minutes as a warning period and then turns red when it is time to get out of the shower. It has been proven to save the consumer money and at the same time, save the world’s most important resource, water.

How is it funded?
Greener Globe took part in Trinity College’s Student Summer Accelerator known as Launchbox powered by Bank of Ireland this year where the company received funding, office space and mentorship. More recently, Greener Globe was accepted into the Climate KIC Accelerator which has been a valuable source of income for the company. The team were awarded Young Social Innovators for Co.Offaly Local Enterprise Office and received funding to get the product to market and finally, the company has made over 300 sales to date.
Future plans?
Greener Globe is currently developing a smart version of the shower head called Nera and plan to introduce it to not only to the household industry but also the hospitality industry. The company has received a lot of traction to date in both sectors and been approached by large stakeholders who are interested in the product.
Greener Globe’s overall future vision is to create a completely efficient landscape for homes and buildings that uses water and electricity in a sustainable manner. We hope to do this through a number of environmentally friendly products and systems, starting with the Aquacica and Nera shower heads.
