Dell Technologies began in 1984 in Michael Dell’s dorm room. The tech company has gone on to pioneer the digital revolution in what is now a global operation. Dell expanded into Ireland in 1990 with their base in Limerick. The company now has offices in Dublin and Cork and employs over 5,500 people at these locations. The company’s arrival in Limerick acted as the progenitor for its sales journey into Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Since that time, Dell’s operations in Limerick have evolved from assembly line production to a stronghold in the US company’s global operations. The firm has engaged in charity work in Irish communities typified by their partnership with Barnardos. This partnership has helped provide 25,000 hours of family support & 600,000 meals to vulnerable children.
