The latest digital edition of Business & Finance has been issued.
The latest digital edition of Business & Finance is live. Interim Managing Editor, David Monaghan, writes:
“Welcome to this very special edition of Business & Finance magazine.
“In this, our annual print issue, we take a close look at the US-Ireland relationship: How it has gone from strength to strength in a tumultuous geopolitical climate, and where there may be opportunities for further expansion between the two countries.
“Indeed, a lot has happened since our last print edition. Ireland is now the fifth largest source of Foreign Direct Investment in the United States, with more than 700 Irish companies operating across all 50 states. The recent EU-US agreement, which established a 15% tariff ceiling, has also given certainty to Irish exporters.
“Ireland’s new Embassy in Washington, DC, highlights the priority both nations place on deepening our continued partnership.
“Our cover story features a range of contributors and interviewees to reflect these developments, including Tánaiste and Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade, Simon Harris TD; former United States Secretary of Commerce, Wilbur Ross; former United States Ambassador to Ireland, Claire Cronin; Executive Director of Enterprise Ireland, Kevin Sherry; Chief Legal Officer & Corporate Secretary of Citi, Brent McIntosh, and more.
“We also highlight the achievements of Secretary Hillary Rodham Clinton and Loretta Brennan Glucksman, who will be honoured with the Sutherland Leadership Award and the TK Whitaker Award, respectively, for helping shape modern Ireland and fostering a deeper connection with the United States.
“Also featured in this magazine are contributions to the Ireland INC US 250 Index 2025, a celebration of the strength and value of Irish FDI in the United States, by Paschal Donohoe TD, Minister for Finance and President of the Eurogroup; Jenny Melia, CEO of Enterprise Ireland; Danny McCoy, CEO of Ibec; and Michael Lohan, CEO of IDA Ireland.
“Professor Sir Ian Greer, President and Vice-Chancellor of Queen’s University Belfast, contributes a feature on Secretary Clinton’s inauguration as the first female Chancellor of QUB, reflecting her 30‑year commitment to Northern Ireland’s peace and reconciliation process.
“We also honour Eddie Jordan, the late Formula One team founder of Jordan Grand Prix and entrepreneur, who is to be recognised with the 2025 Outstanding Contribution to Ireland Award.
“The magazine is rounded out by thought leadership by Bobby Healy, CEO & founder of Manna; Jeanne McDonagh, CEO & founder of the Open Doors Initiative; Feargal O’Rourke, Chair of IDA Ireland; Brian Hayes, CEO of Banking and Payments Federation Ireland, and much, much more.
“On a more personal note, this is my final issue as a member of the Editorial team. Earlier this year, Managing Editor Sarah Freeman also left her role. For the past five years we have written, edited, managed and moderated material that we hope you have enjoyed. I know I speak for us both when I say we are grateful for the opportunities Business & Finance has provided, and I hope you have enjoyed reading. I wish our successors every success in their roles.”
