State Street Investment Management
State Street Investment Management has announced two new senior leadership appointments.
Marie-Anne Heeren has been appointed Head of Client Coverage Group (CCG) Europe, EVP. In her new role, she will oversee all client-facing teams across Europe.
Her main focus will be on continuing to deliver services to institutional and intermediary clients, fostering collaboration, and addressing evolving client needs. Heeren brings extensive experience from her five-year tenure leading State Street IM’s European institutional business, which has seen strong momentum driven in part by structural trends such as pension consolidation, intermediary growth, and continuing client demand in Europe for sustainable investment solutions.
Following her appointment, Marie-Anne Heeren commented, “Our clients face a complex landscape of opportunities and risks. As one of the largest asset managers in the world with vast institutional experience and deep expertise, State Street IM is uniquely positioned to help them navigate challenges and seize opportunities for long-term success.”
Matteo Andreetto has been promoted to Global Head of Nextgen Business Development and Digital Wealth.
In his new role, Andreetto will expand State Street IM’s global reach through innovative distribution partnerships, NextGen digital wealth efforts, and its ETF-as-a-Service offering. Since its launch in 2024, ETF-as-a-Service has enabled asset and wealth management firms to launch ETFs quickly without building full-scale infrastructure. He assumes this new role, having developed this initiative, forged partnerships with digital wealth managers and brokers, and led State Street IM’s European intermediary business.
Commenting on his appointment, Matteo Andreetto said, “The industry is at a fascinating crossroads, with innovation accelerating through AI and demographic shifts. My focus will be on positioning State Street IM at the forefront of these changes and continuing to serve as a trusted partner to our clients and the investors they serve.”
Baroness Margaret Curran & Stephen Donnelly, Advisory Team
Alice Public Relations
Alice Public Relations announced earlier this week the extension of its advisory team, with the appointment of two new members.
Baroness Margaret Curran is part of the Scottish Labour political party and was a former member of both the UK and Scottish Parliaments. Alice Public Relations’ CEO, Martina Quinn, announced her appointment to the company’s expert advisory team.
Before her new role, she served as the Scottish Government’s Minister for Parliament and Minister for Communities, and, in the House of Commons, as the Labour Party’s Shadow Secretary of State for Scotland. Outside of her parliamentary work, Baroness Curran has worked as an international consultant specialising in governance, diversity, and women’s political empowerment.
She has participated in election observation missions in Georgia, Tunisia and Lebanon, and has provided capacity-building and strategy sessions for parliamentarians, government officials and aspiring politicians in Africa, the Middle East and Southern Asia. A lifelong women’s rights activist, she has particular expertise in women’s rights, equality and social justice.
Following her appointment, Baroness Margaret Curran said, “Alice’s values and drive to create and support stronger, more connected communities mirror my own ambitions. It is a pleasure to join a team that approaches its mission with great optimism and energy. I look forward to contributing to the positive work that lies ahead.”
Stephen Donnelly is a leadership and community organising practitioner who, from his base in Melbourne, Australia, works with movements across the globe to drive progressive change by building winning campaigns. He has designed and implemented community organising strategies that helped Australia’s Labour Party win three consecutive terms in government, and has worked with progressive political movements across the world.
He also worked with the First Peoples’ Assembly of Victoria to increase the number of registered voters from zero to over 10,000 in four years, laying the groundwork for a historic treaty between Aboriginal people and the Victorian government.
Commenting on his appointment, Stephen Donnelly said, “I am delighted to join the team at Alice. Their dedication to creating meaningful and lasting change inspires me. I feel fortunate to bring my experience to an organisation where it can make an impact. I’m looking forward to collaborating with colleagues and clients who share a commitment to creating positive change.”
