The IT Ukraine Association, in collaboration with the Ministry of Digital Transformation, the Top Lead agency, and UKRSIBBANK BNP Paribas Group, unveiled the “Incredible Tech Catalogue” of IT companies and products in Ukraine. This catalogue has been designed with the primary goal of promoting these entities on the global market, serving as a particularly important tool in the current landscape.

In a world marked by rapid technological evolution, Ukraine’s IT industry has become a beacon of resilience and innovation. Before the full-scale invasion, this sector had established itself as a significant player in Europe’s technology exports, boasting consistent annual growth rates of 25-30% and contributing over 4% to the nation’s GDP. However, the war marked a turning point in the industry’s history, revealing its remarkable resilience.

The preceding years, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic, have highlighted the importance of adaptability and preparedness. Ukraine’s IT industry has demonstrated remarkable resilience, overcoming unforeseen challenges brought about by war.

Ukraine has distinguished itself in various domains, including defence tech, cyber defence, and cybersecurity. Additionally, sectors such as digital transformation, comprehensive service solutions, E-commerce, FinTech, EdTech, and Health Tech are rapidly evolving, reflecting the country’s expertise in cutting-edge technologies such as AI, machine learning, AR, and Data Science.

Economically, Ukraine’s IT industry has thrived with an annual growth rate of 28%, culminating in an astonishing 18.2-fold increase since 2010. In 2022, the export of computer services reached an all-time high of 7.3 billion dollars, constituting nearly half of Ukraine’s service exports.

The digital sector’s share in services is consistently on the rise, contributing almost 5% to Ukraine’s GDP. The Ministry of Digital Transformation has set an ambitious goal to reach 10% of GDP by 2030, reflecting the industry’s exponential growth trajectory.

Currently, Ukraine hosts 2262 registered IT companies, employing approximately 362,000 IT professionals. These companies have positioned themselves as global leaders, known for delivering innovative solutions and products.

Ukraine’s leadership in digitalisation is evidenced by initiatives such as equating electronic passports with paper counterparts, the introduction of the popular online government services app “Diia” and its strong presence in cybersecurity. The nation has proactively legislated artificial intelligence and digital asset regulations, while integrating digital solutions in education and healthcare. Ukraine has also joined the WHO Global Network of Digital Health Care Documents, championing digital transformation across multiple domains.
